What a precious tribute for your beautiful purr-fur baby. So very sorry for your heartbreak. (Know this all to well.) Your memories shared are precious and may they be healing balm for your broken heart. Many blessings and MUCH LOVE to you and your grieving family. ~Wendy💜
Dear Jo, what beautiful tribute to your feline family. My heart breaks for you. Even though we know they will leave us after far too few years, we love them still and give them our hearts and souls. I am sure that a little piece of Pumpkin’s soul is with you still, in the space left where you gave her a little piece of your heart 💛
I read this with daughter's rescue kitten on my lap. The dropper-feed stuff had been done when we got him at seven weeks. He is more than double everything now and an enthusiastic battling marmalade streak.
I remember our Elzie-Pells leaving us ... years ago... I drove 300 miles home like the wind, her voice fading all the while and missed her by ten minutes...
Thanks for sharing Pumpy with us Jo. It’s friggin hard to lose family. Awful. May the memories be eternal. May you find Pumpy in the sweetness of dawn on your beautiful mountain. Something tells me she’ll be right beside you. It still hurts. A lot. Big hugs. 🙏❤️
Ah Jamie, thank you for your heart felt empathetic message. Yes Pumpkin seems to be running up more mountains and swimming in more lakes than she used to! She is there always. ❤️
A beautiful love letter, Jo, to that infinite feline spirit that attaches itself to our lives, becoming our lives, in their irrepressible way, reminding us that we're all together in a Pumpkin's sky.
Bast the cat goddess of Egyptians protects all cats. I have an icon to remind me of all mr feline friends I gave lost . My last cat Oliver I have his cremains to be placed with mine when I hear his meow call to come home to rest.
Oliver was an abused gentle Maine coon cat that had his front claws pulled out and was given to me by a dear friend rescued from the animal shelter to help heal a loss from my white Persian taken by a coyote. We both bonded to heal each other’s wounds. He was about ten years old and lived ten more tears under my care.
It is said a person is not dead until no-one left on earth remembers them. They live on in the memories of those still living. I guess the same is true of cats and animals we loved. A great love letter tribute to Pumpkin, who had a well-lived, and well-loved, life.
Oh Jo, its so hard to lose the hearts we love...💔 that was the most beautiful tear jerking cat eulogy ever! Huge hugs xxx
Susie thank you. 🥰 Easy to write when it comes straight from the heart. xx

I can't even bear thinking of the cruelty people inflict.
How wonderful that you and Oliver found each other and spent 10 years healing together. Very very special.
